About me

A little bit about me and where I am now!

I’m known online as jisp (they/them). I like this name being stylized with and without the capital ‘J’!

I’m a second generation immigrant in the United States, living in what is called “The Midwest”.

I enjoy gaming and choreography/dance. In late 2024 I started streaming on Twitch.tv to meet more queer people, and to my surprise it went pretty well!

Around that time I also joined the LBLCS, a recreational tournament for League of Legends and I’ve played in a few seasons, aiming to climb up as I improve with my team. I want to show off how great my friends are, so I’m winning for them! I also want to improve diversity in Esports. Competitive gaming should be a medium that connects the globe and provides opportunities for anyone to shine, especially marginalized people who may have been discouraged or barred from other activities.

In 2026 I’ve joined my local mask bloc to help bring aid to my community. I also joined the LBLCS dev team so we can create stats for our players and teams, which people find an exciting part of competitive play.

There are also some other creative outlets I’m playing with. For dance, I used to be much more active but my enjoyment has dwindled between 2022-2025. I am interested in making a return soon, though! Watch out for that! I’ll likely open up a second YouTube channel for this. I’m also learning 3D Animation in Blender. I’m taking it slow but I’ve been enjoying it so far.

I work in IT / software engineering and I love how computers and technology can both organize information and connect the globe. However I am aware of how technology is used to codify systemic injustices and that many tech devices are built off of exploitation of countries like the DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo) for their raw materials.

Some things I believe include:

…but I’m always learning, so I’d love to talk to you and see new perspectives!

Thanks for reading! This is an attempt at some more “about me” but I don’t know how to add it as a tab on this website format (Jekyll) LOL. It’s a blog post for now but might be moved in the future…
